Hi Everyone! For those that do not know me, my name is Amanda and I am Ashley and Travis's sister, and Aspen's aunt.

On Sunday September 26th, Ashley and Travis brought Aspen to urgent care after she was experiencing severe headaches and was very lethargic all weekend. They were sent to Helen Devos Children's Hospital where several tests were completed.

The doctors found that Aspen had a mass in her brain, as well as fluid. They completed a procedure to drain the fluid and Aspen was sedated and placed on a ventilator.

After an MRI, they discovered that she has a rare brain tumor called a craniopharyngioma. The doctors are confident that they will be able to do surgery to remove the tumor through her nose, or at least be able to shrink it. They have stated that most times these tumors are non-cancerous. There are still very many unknowns at the time and we won’t know more until they remove it and do a biopsy.

At this time, the doctors are gathering a special team to do the surgery and will hopefully be able to schedule it later this week. Aspen is currently awake, drinking and eating. She may be able to get up and walk around today.

A lot of people have asked about ways that they can help at this time by either giving money, sending items, preparing meals, etc. Ashley and Travis have been staying at the hospital and therefore have been eating take out and Travis has been driving back and forth from the hospital to their home to care for their pets.
