Hidden Lake Community,
With this crazy time we are living in, we need a community event more than ever!
It's time for a July 4th Hidden Lake Community Party! I have completed the work with the City and the Westminster Fire Department and we now have the permits and insurance required to host a party and a fireworks show for our Hidden Lake Community. We will have our walk through with the fireworks display operator tomorrow (June 6). The fireworks show is licensed, insured and permitted, and will be conducted by a professional fireworks display operator.
This Hidden Lake Community party will be a SAFE event for the entire family. There will be games on and off the water (Opt-In wristbands and lifejackets are required to participate in any in-water games). The games and races, will be for all ages with prizes for both adults and children.
Several people have asked how they can make a donation to help cover the costs. We have a couple sponsors covering a significant portion of the costs. However, we could use additional donations to go toward things like fireworks, games, prizes, security, insurance, permits, additional firehose, porta-pottys, dumpster for trash, band, etc. So I have created this GoFundMe page to make it easy to make a contribution to help with the expenses. Otherwise, you are welcome to get a donation to me and I will ensure it's accounted for and put to good use. There are a lot of ideas, but the available funds will only stretch so far.
If you would be willing to donate time and ideas, that would work too. We definitely need people to help coordinate and runs games, events, etc.
***** IMPORTANT NOTICE *****
Since we are a licensed and insured event, there will be NO personal fireworks allowed in the North Hidden Lake park (sparklers for kids is OK). We will have on-site professional security monitoring for fireworks and anyone bringing personal fireworks into the park will be required to leave. The rule will be... "If it leaves the ground, you will leave the park".
If you have actual fireworks that you would like to donate to the show, please get them to me as soon as possible and we will arrange for them to be included. Our permit allows cakes and mortar shells up to 2".
