Hi, my name is Colene Ford and I've been with my wonderful husband Tracy for 27 years. Over the past couple years he complained of a tummy ache. Dr's came to the diagnosis of Diverticulitis. Had a couple infections nothing serious, followed instructions no problems avoid popcorn seeds ECT. no problem. For a good 6 months after that he still complained of a stomach ache. I took him to Dr. they told him "your constipated" We did what we should increased fiber ate healthy even added a stool softener. Stomach ache continued, I continued to take him to Dr.
We got a great PA who sent us for x-ray. We got a call that ER was waiting on us to get there as fast as we could. His diverticulitis had perfferrated, there was also a abscess creating a communication with his bladder. We spent Thanksgiving and Christmas in the hospital. Christmas we were discharged, we were home maybe 35 hours, before bringing him back.BP 60/40 temp 103. And I took him back
I watch my husband quickly succumb to sepsis. He no longer new the day year month president He knew me but the rest of the world he didn't understand. I was beyond terrified, his kidneys were failing.
We did 4 admissions before we reached surgery day. The times my husband was home I was his nurse 24 hours a day 7 days a week. 4 IVs a day and regular meds between. So tiring so exhausting no nursing care to help. Things you think your prepared for your not like bills large ones.
The money you saved left. Long term disability only pays 40%. You can't just pay %40 of your rent or mortgage. Most can't. I never thought this would happen to us. I am not begging for help but I am asking for help. Anything donation would be appreciated it could be the smallest amount that you can spare. %40 of roof is not a roof it's the missing %60 makes the home.
What makes me mad is the medically necessary supplies are not covered by most insurances, and it's not like you can go with out it. I've been living in and out of hospital for basically 4 months and now after learning to change a ileostomy bag I'm not ready. I know I can do it but I'm just not ready to be on my own with this. Work your donations I was able to pay one bill. Please keep sharing. Thank you.
