Hidalgo Family: October Medical Expenses

It’s difficult and even slightly embarrassing for Leu and I to have to reach out and ask for financial help but we are in need of $3k in order to pay for our COBRA health benefits due October 1st and the remaining $650 deductible we need to pay for my upcoming C-section in November.

Leu was laid off 4.5 months ago. He has interviewed every day since, some days even taking 5 interviews in one day. Even with all of his best efforts he has not been able to land a job as of yet which is why we’ve had to pay for COBRA (family medical benefits) out of pocket for the last few months.

For the most part we have been able to keep afloat with the emergency savings we had, credit cards and my part time consulting gig.  Unfortunately, as of September we have exhausted all of our savings and with my upcoming maternity leave I won’t be able to make an income for the months of November and December while I bond with the baby and take time to heal from my C-section. I definitely plan to jump back in come January as soon as I can get a new client since my existing client plans to hire someone full time in my absence. In the meantime, we are trying to sell our home to free up some cash but with interest rates going up and the housing market not going well it’s been taking us longer than we expected and our realtor has predicted.

Overall, we are okay to cover our October expenses but this is the only thing we fall short on which is why we started this GoFundMe. If you are able to spare even $5 it will honestly add up and go a long way for us. We also ask if you could please send us as much positive energy as possible so that we can leave this all behind us before Emme Jade is here. ❤️
