HFS & HIC Warehouse is Moving

HIC Warehouse has officially been given notice that HIC and Home for Skateboarding will be removed as tenants from the facility on 1120 Edgefield Hwy Aiken SC in the next 30 days.

The land owners will be remodeling the property and placing it for sell with no option for HIC to return as a tenant. HIC and HFS have been on time with payments, respectable and cooperative with the landowner. However, the landowner has no heart or care for HIC and HFS’s cause/mission. This means that HIC will be closed and removed from their current location by April 30th. HIC and HFS are down but not out! We would like to inform you that Home for Skateboarding (501c3 non profit) is looking for a land donation of 2.5 acres in the Aiken area to rebuild and continue with their mission. The land will most likely be undeveloped, this will require HFS to build parking lots, driveways, a new warehouse and level land for an outdoor concrete area. HFS will need donations, help and volunteers from all sources to accomplish this. HIC will reopen a shop on the donated land to continue to supply quality skateboarding equipment to the scene.

Immediate plan of action;
There will be a fundraiser contest held on 1/27/2018. After the event we will begin tear down of the ramps. During this process the facility will still be open to public for skating. We are trying to acquire land now and once that is accomplished we will start developing the land and working to create a skate area.

Long term goals;
HIC and HFS over long term would like to have a skatepark compound with a public indoor facility and public outdoor, concrete park. The concrete park will have lights and be fully accessible 24/7. The indoor facility will be ran under previous terms of HIC Warehouse. All facilities will be free to use at all times. Ultimately HFS would like to provide 25,000 square feet of skateble area split between concrete and indoor wood

What will be done with gofundme funds;
The funds raised from this will be used to develop the new land, build a new indoor warehouse, relocate old ramps and create new ramps inside the warehouse.

To build the concrete outdoor park we will need a separate sum of $400,000.00. (Rough estimation for a 10,000 square foot park.)

What Home for Skateboarding does;

We try to teach every one of the children a set of core values that are designed to help them go far in life. We show them the benefits of working with fellow skaters, and what it means to show compassion and build understanding. We also encourage them to strive for a better education, whether that means focusing more at school, developing a stronger set of morals, or learning new moves. We also show these children, through skateboarding, how to grow into valuable members of society.

Join us in our efforts to make great things happen in the lives of these children. We plan special events that give them a chance to interact with professional skaters at our indoor skate park. We also provide a skate ministry. For those students who are struggling with school, we have specialized tutoring programs that are available free of charge. We even work with A.Skate™ to help individuals with autism learn the basics of skateboarding.

Home for Skateboarding's mission;
HFS is founded on the brotherhood of skateboarding. We are ran by skateboarders for skateboarders. We are a safe haven here for any skateboarder, young or old, in all walks of life to come from anywhere in the world and simply skate.

The mission of HFS is to offer a nurturing home for skateboarders to have fellowship, learn, grow and bond together.  HFS' facility combined with its leaders will motivate, educate and inspire people to become a mature independent self-aware, self-confidant individual through the goodness of skateboarding.

Home for Skateboarding's core values;

Fellowship and Bonding: Provoking team work with fellow skaters, understanding and supporting each other, and having compassion towards others.

Learning: Offering a habitat to aid in higher learning of academics, morals and skateboarding.

Grow: Helping kids grow into a valuable member of society, a splendid human being and an outstanding skateboarder.
