Hicks Family Dog

Elizabeth was diagnosed with Stage IV non small cell lung cancer in 2012. At the time she had two young children, Oliver (2 years) and Charlie (5 months).  Elizabeth underwent a thoracotomy, chemotherapy and radiation shortly after. From 2012-2018, Elizabeth underwent routine surveillance scans which showed slow growth of the tumors over time. In January 2019, Elizbeth’s scans showed progression of her tumors which required further treatment. Elizabeth has been enrolled on a phase I clinical trial at Siteman Cancer Center and is currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy.  Elizabeth’s boys are now 9 and 6 and old enough to understand what is going on. Elizabeth, Ben, and the boys have always wanted a dog and the thought of getting a puppy is what is getting them all through all the hard times during chemo. Oliver and Charlie have always wished for a puppy and Elizabeth would like to grant their wish to offer them hope during this tough time.  They need to buy a hypoallergenic dog due to the children's Allergies, which is why it is so expensive. They have great neighbors and support nearby that can help love the puppy when needed. Please help this sweet family out by granting their wish!!!!  This puppy will be The reward after Elizabeth  completes her chemotherapy!
