Help Hiccup Heal: A Second Chance for My Tripod Cat

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my beloved cat, Hiccup. He’s a little over a year old and has been the brightest light in my life since the day I found him. When I first met Hiccup, he was missing his rear left leg, but that never slowed him down. He was faster, more playful, and more full of love than my other cats combined. His energy and resilience were inspiring, and he quickly became a cherished member of my family.

Recently, Hiccup injured his nub, and it became infected. On 11/27, I took him to the vet and spent $1,167 on blood tests, X-rays, and other procedures to try and help him heal. Despite this, his injury hasn’t improved, and I’ve been advised that the only way to ensure his long-term health is to fully amputate what remains of his rear leg.

This surgery is estimated to cost between $800 and $2,400, and unfortunately, I can’t afford it on my own. I’ve already received help from my boyfriend and family, and I’ve been using my credit card to cover the bills, but I’ve reached my limit.

Hiccup hasn’t been himself lately—he’s in pain, withdrawn, and not his usual loving, playful self. It breaks my heart to see him suffer, knowing that surgery could give him the relief and quality of life he deserves.

I’m asking for any help you can give—no amount is too small. Hiccup has been such a fighter all his life, and I just want to give him the chance to keep thriving. Your support will go directly toward his surgery and follow-up care.
