Hibiki's Bone Cancer Treatment

Donation protected
My name is Keisha. If you are here you most likely know my Great Dane, Hibiki. In November I noticed Hibiki limping and after this continuing for over a week I took him to the vet. They prescribed him anti-inflammatories. After another week it still didn't seem better to me so I took him back for x-rays. They just called it arthritis and told me to continue letting him rest. The next day I noticed a lump forming on Biki's opposite leg from the one he had been limping on. I thought he had gotten hurt at the vet. I was furious. After another week and a half of me leaving them multiple messages trying to set an appointment I brought him back in for x-rays. That is when I was told he has Bone Cancer. Osteosarcoma is a tumor of the bone cells that usually affects a single bone. It is a very painful and fast moving cancer. I was given the estimation of Biki having 2-3 months left to live before I have to ultimately put him to sleep when the pain becomes too much.
I feel like I have been drowning since the diagnosis. I can't seem to get enough air. I will never get to walk Biki ever again, we will never go on another hike or roadtrip together. I am heartbroken and devastated, words can't describe the pain I feel for him and for me. I can't imagine him not being here right by my side like he has for the last 5 and a half years. He is my best friend. He is everything to me. He is all I ever talk about honestly. Hibiki changed my life for the better. How will I continue on without his kisses? Without his tail hitting everything in sight? Without his heavy head resting in my hand?
I have decided to keep him on pain medications suggested to me and do once a month infusions (Zoledraonte) with oncologists to help with the pain. I am asking for help with expenses because as most of you know Biki is 190 pounds and medications for him are extra expensive. I will be giving him different supplements and just trying to keep him as comfortable as I possibly can. I do not want him to suffer. He is not a good candidate for amputation of his leg because of his size and I do not think he would do well on 3 legs. Radiation is also a dangerous option because of his weight and how it weakens the bone. These donations will also cover the cost of a very expensive at home euthanasia and private cremation when it comes to that. I can't even believe that I am having to prepare for this even as I am typing it.
I will be doing all of Hibiki's favorite things with him for as long as I can and keeping him as happy as I can. I do not know how much actual time I have left with him.
Thank you for reading all of this and being there for us. Anything helps. If you personally know Hibiki and would like to send him any gifts/toys or visit him please feel free to contact me privately.
