Hmong International Academy is a Minneapolis Public School located in Jordan Park. For the last week, Minneapolis Public School Educators have been on strike for the bare necessities we need to do our jobs; smaller case-loads, smaller class sizes, mental health supports coming off of a pandemic and uprising and liveable wages and salaries.

The backbone of our school and district are the ESP's (educational support staff). These educators are the life-blood of our school, and their salaries are one of the biggest reasons we are on strike as a union. ESP's starting salaries are 25,000 dollars a year. Given that we have been on strike for a week now, the financial cost of being out of work will soon become untenable for many of our ESP's.

We are raising money to split up equally between our striking ESP's to help cover the cost of rent, bills and other expenses while we are on strike.
