I'm a cuddly, curious, and very spoiled little cat, and I’ve been lucky enough to have the best human in the whole world. My human is a teenager with a big heart and an even bigger love for me. We’ve been through a lot together, especially because my human has health problems that make life a little more complicated. We found comfort and strength in each other.
But now... I need help.
I’ve been diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis). It’s a scary illness, one that used to be a death sentence for cats like me. But thanks to recent treatments, there’s hope. Real, paw-sible, whisker-twitching hope.
The thing is... that hope comes with a very big price tag. My treatment, medications, and vet visits are adding up to nearly $8,000 and still growing. My human is doing everything he can, but he’s still just a teenager. A brave, determined, amazing teen who refuses to give up on me. And I don’t want to give up either. I’m still purring, still snuggling, and still dreaming about chasing lasers.
So, I’m asking, from the bottom of my furry little heart, could you help us? Even a few dollars could bring me closer to more good days, more naps in sunbeams, more time with my best friend.
Please donate if you can and share my story if you can’t. Every bit of kindness helps.
With love,
Stardust the Cat (and my very devoted human)
Edit: Stardust approved me helping to update everyone. He says he’s too busy writing his new book, “When half a mew is enough”.
In any case, we are staring to see some improvements. Stardust is definitely a fighter and he has shown it consistently throughout this journey. Just when we were worrying the most this week, his body started to show that he was not giving up that easily. Since then we have seen so many improvements. He is meowing constantly, if not receiving attention. It’s like music to hear his complaints. (I will be speaking to HR soon regarding catnip demands).
He has walked the length of the house, including climbing the stairs(with a few rest breaks on the way up). He is hungry every 2 hours during feeding now, and nearly finishing the bowl each time.
He has found so many new laps to claim ownership of. It’s amazing to see people’s love when they see such a tiny baby suffering. We even tested the neighbors allergies last night because she couldn’t resist saying hello, but forgot she hadn’t taken her meds.
He played with a stringy, catnip toy for a few minutes yesterday, before quickly claiming it as the most comfortable pillow in the house and napping on it.
For now he is resting after another visit to the vet. His numbers are showing more improvement and we are so happy to see his energy levels slowly improving. He ate his food so quickly when he got home from the vet that he hiccu-burped when he finished.
I hope to one day read his book, as he seems quite intent on jotting all of the details down. I see his biscuits going so often now, I’m sure it will be a good read.
Please remember that we appreciate all of your help even if it’s only a sharing of this campaign.
