Hi I'm Otto and I desperately need your help.
My lovely GSP boy Otto desperately needs your help. Here is his story so far...
Otto is a rescue dog, approx 5/6 years old, who came to me from the Balkans last August. He has spent his whole life in kennels or poor quality rescues and despite this he’s still a funny, easy going, dopey GSP who gives me endless love. My dream for Otto is to enjoy living with a family for the first time in his life, to spend time walking in the wonderful New Forest and to help me through significant spinal disability caused by 2 RTCs when I was 19 and 28!
Sadly, neither Otto or I have achieved the life we are hoping for yet. It became obvious, really quickly, that Otto also has more than his fair share of pre-existing conditions, including a significant heart/lung disability caused by poorly treated heartworm (which wasn’t covered by the insurance I’ve taken out).
In the 11 months Otto has been in my life he has racked up a huge total vet bill of £15,000, the majority of which I’ve paid for (my insurance company has contributed to his new problems as his pre-existing problems are not covered). Otto’s overseas rescue have not made any contribution to his vet bills.
Otto’s other pre-existing MAJOR health issue, is that he has a degenerative spinal condition, (ironically not unlike mine) which is now life threatening and requires URGENT, extensive, cervical surgery as soon as possible.
I’m determined not to give up on my lovely boy and a week ago he was lucky enough to visit the incredible surgeon at the referral centre in Surrey and this is why I’m asking for your help. I now have Otto’s examination reports and sadly his surgery will cost approximately £13,500. He needs £3500 NOW to build the personalised ‘biomechanic’ metalwork to support his cervical spine and will need the remaining £10000, for his surgery, as soon as the metalwork is created.
Otto and I have come so far in 11 months, he’s been through so much and I’ve now run out of money, so unless I can raise £3500 now and £10000 as soon as possible afterwards, Otto’s story will end.
Please help Otto to live the life he deserves. Thank you for reading this and helping Otto.
