Truffle is my little guy that I've wanted for years. I'm a groomer and always wanted a mini poodle. He came to me shortly after my chihuahua passed away, and he healed my heart. It was a rough start with him. I got him from Tennessee when he was almost 5 months old. He had no socialization with people, but he has always been amazing with other dogs. With the help of my fiance, close friends, and most importantly his amazing behaviorist, Truffle started coming out of his shell and not being such a scared baby with people.

We recently moved into a much bigger house with a huge yard for Truffle and his siblings. I came home from work on Friday, to care of them as usual, and had dinner with my fiance and my friend. We let the dogs outside to play at 6:30pm, and Truffle started acting strange. We panicked thinking he bloated or twisted his stomach, because he was painful and vomiting.

We immediately rushed him to UF Vet in Ocala which is a smaller scale ER vet. We were there from 7pm until after midnight. They took bloodwork and xrays. There were a lot of abnormalities on his bloodwork, and his xrays showed something in his abdomen. They stabilized him, and put in a transfer to UF in Gainesville, and we got him there at almost 12:30am Saturday morning. It's currently 6am on Saturday (9/27/25) and we are still here.

We still don't know exactly what is in his abdomen. The 3 variables are cancer, an obstruction, or a fungal infection. He has been admitted to the hospital and they are performing an endoscopy, more bloodwork, and more xrays to see what's going on.

We just purchased a house. Its also the slow season at work for me. We never ask for anything from anyone, but if you could find it in your heart to help with this unexpected and tragic experience, we would greatly appreciate it. We do not want to say goodbye to Truffle, we want to give him a fighting chance but financially we cant right now.
