Hi, I am Kathleen Mayers. Four years ago, if you had told me I would be fundraising for my daughter's NJROTC Drill team I would have responded that you must have me confused with someone else. I never dreamed that my daughter would have an interest in NJROTC but then Covid hit and registration for high school was canceled. She wound up with a freshman class schedule that included NJROTC and it ended up being the thing that got her through the difficult transition to high school during a pandemic.

Fast forward 3 years and Honora is the XO for her unit. After nearly three years of 7:00 am practices, her drill team has won the honor of competing for a national title in Daytona in May. It is a first for Hilton Head Island High School. It also comes with a big price tag. After seeing her roll out of the bed Monday - Friday at 5:30 am to get to practice, raising the funds won't be easy but I think it's the least I can do to reward her dedication.

I hope you will feel as I do that these good, hardworking kids deserve our support. No donation is too small - or too big :)
