Help Oakley get Top Surgery

I am excited to share that I have booked a date for top surgery in mid-January! This is a surgery I’ve been thinking about and wanting for a while, and I have put in a lot of time into getting referrals and researching surgeons for.

Getting this procedure will allow me to feel more connected to my body and in alignment with my gender identity. I will no longer need to worry about either binding my chest, which is hard on my body and can only be worn for certain lengths of time or being uncomfortable with my body when not wearing it. It will also increase my sense of comfort in feeling like I am being perceived by others as I identify and see myself.

I will be travelling to Florida for my surgery as the doctor there has results that I am confident in and the timing of when I could schedule works well with my chiropractic program that I am in the middle of. The cost of the procedure along with travel is a significant amount for me to handle on top of my school program. I have included a breakdown of the expenses here:

Surgery and hospital fees: $15,145 USD

Hotel costs: $1,100 USD (I will need to stay in Florida for a week after my surgery date to attend my post-operative appointment at which point I will have recovered enough to be able to travel home)

Airplane tickets: $2,500 CAD (Both my parents will be coming with me for the surgery as I will require assistance in the early stages of recovery)
