Tara's 3 Peak Challenge
Thank you for taking the time to visit my "gofundme" Page.
Last December my husband and I visited an orphanage in Bulgaria for severely disabled children, to deliver Christmas presents to them from our Christmas Stocking Appeal. During this visit I was upset to find that some of the children in the orphanage with Cerebral Palsy were Simpy spending their days in ill-fitting baby pushchairs. They are in desperate need of wheelchairs that will offer them the correct support and comfort they deserve.
Cerebral Palsy is caused by abnormal development or damage to the parts of the brain that control movement, balance and posture. Cerebral Palsy is a permanent movement disorder that appears in early childhood. Often symptoms include poor coordination, stiff muscles, weak muscles and tremors.
These orphan children have very little in life and have limited amounts of love and attention. I would truly love to see them be comfortable throughout the day and their bodies supported by providing them with adequate wheelchairs for their condition and needs.
Brand new these wheelchairs cost approximately £1500 each. I hope to raise with as much help and support as possible, enough money to buy 2 hopefully even 3, much needed chairs for these orphans. We aim to deliver them on our return this December in time for Christmas.
To make this wish at all possible for them, I have decided to carry out the "3 Peaks Challenge" in September. For those of you that have not heard of this challenge, I will be climbing 3 mountains in 24 hours,
Ben Nevis in Scotland
Scarfell Pike in England
Snowdon in Wales
I am already in training for this challenge with very early morning runs, hikes and bike rides.
I would really appreciate any donations and support that any of you can offer me with this very worthy cause.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to read my page and help me with this fund.
