My mother, Suzanne Klane, as most of you know
has been bravely battling lung cancer for a few
years. Along with this battle have been many other complications including multiple stays at Brigham and Women’s, malnutrition, sepsis, weakness,
insufficient labs, and many others. My family and I have been working with the team at Brigham and Women’s hospital for her most recent admission
for her blood infection and back fracture. Just as
we thought things might be getting better, we
were informed that my mom’s lung cancer has
spread to her brain. Her brain cancer is called
Leptomeningeal disease. The team at Brigham has decided that moving on with any treatment such as chemo or radiation would do more harm than good in my mom’s situation because of the fact that
she is so sick. In conclusion, we as a family and the medical team have decided that it would be best
for Suzanne to go on Hospice care. My mom will be able to live with the time she has left without pain, and being comfortable. My family and I appreciate anything that anyone is able to donate to this care. Thoughts and prayers are
always enough too❤️ Thank you everyone so
much for being here for Suzanne and her long,
difficult journey.
