Please Help Me Get A Service Dog

My name is edie and I am 10 years old. I have PDA autism and a separation disorder. When I was 8 years old things started to get really hard. I struggle to be apart from my mum. Going to school made me feel panicked and scared. Luckily Mum took me to an amazing doctor who helped me find out how I was different. She advised that I would probably be happier home schooling so that’s now what we do and I am so much happier. I want to be an entrepreneur and I’m trying to start my own businesses.

On a bad day I can struggle to get out of bed, feel overwhelmed by the world, everything is loud and I cannot be separated from Mum at all. On a bad week this can be every day. I feel bad for Mum sometimes because she has to stay with me and barely gets to see her friends. But she’s the best and always tells me it will get better.

Sometimes I feel sad because I can’t go to friends houses without mum, I can’t go to most cinemas as they are too Loud and give me a panic attack, I can’t go to flip out because its too dark. I worry that it will be like this forever and as my friends get older and start going out on their own I will get left behind. I have really kind friends and they always tell me it will be fine but I still worry.

We are always working on trying to find ways to make the world easier for me. I have wanted a dog of my own since as long as I can remember but I want it to be my dog. We found the information about Autism Dogs Charity who train dogs specifically for autistic people. They make great companions and I hope in time I will feel secure enough in myself and with my doggie to go out with my friends without mum. They can interrupt panic attacks before they happen and use pressure work to calm me down. Isn’t that amazing!

My Dad is very poorly at the moment with a heart condition so I don’t want to stress him out more and so I’m trying to raise the money myself.

I know you’re supposed to do something in return for the donation so I promise not to eat a single piece of processed sugar for one year in return for your kind donation (well maybe one square of dark chocolate per week).
