Hello, everyone! My husband Brandon and I have created this fundraiser to try to help his brother Jake’s family in their current situation. Jake and his family are the last people that would ever ask for help, but we wanted to try to bless them this holiday season when times are already tough for so many in the first place.
Jake’s family has been having a very rough patch for some time now, and that struggle took an unexpected turn last night. While our whole extended family gathered to help them move out of the home they’ve been renting, their sweet puppy Boe got hit by a car. Thankfully Boe survived, but he had to undergo an extremely expensive surgery. This caused Jake to have to spend everything they had saved for a housing down payment just to pay the required 50% of the surgery up front.
This all occurred the same night they faced housing uncertainties after being forced to move out of their rental so their landlord could sell it. Anticipating that day, they underwent months of having no luck with the outrageously competitive housing market. Forced to rent again, he’s having trouble qualifying for a place suitable for him, his girlfriend and their three adorable children, despite having good enough credit to buy if that was possible at the moment.
As they work to secure housing, they are in need of funds to finish paying their large vet bill, as well as regain the money for the down payment they’d saved for their next place to call home. Our goal is to raise $6,000 for them, but every little bit counts! We are so thankful for those of you who’ve taken the time to read this, and for the generosity of those that choose to give this holiday season.
