We are a group from Washington State School for the Blind looking to have the experience of attending Close Up in Washington D.C., during spring of 2015. Close-up provides students with a hands-on experience of learning about government by visiting important historical landmarks, meeting with various political leaders, and collaborating with other teens around the country to investigate solutions to some of the most important current issues. This trip will provide a hands-on experience to our students who are blind/visually impaired, bringing to life many of the important places they hear about but never have the chance to experience. Washington School for the Blind will send six students and two staff on this exciting week-long opportunity April 12-17.
