Hudson Heights for Puerto Rico

Tax deductible
We are a group of residents of the NYC neighborhood of Washington Heights who are trying to get through these dark times by taking small measures to alleviate suffering.

Restore hope to Puerto Rico, in particular Vieques, the devastated island-off-the-island that was hardest hit during Hurricane Maria. It is a beautiful island, but impoverished, and now the residents are struggling to get water, food, and other basic necessities, including medical care.

The island’s one medical clinic, Centro de Diagnostico y Tratamiento Susana Centeno, was badly damaged by hurricane Maria. We’re raising money for the Vieques Conservation and Historical Trust, and they will funnel it to the clinic so that your contribution can be tax-deductible. We have personal contacts on the ground there who tell us the residents are desperate for insulin and other medications.

Your donation will go to the clinic to help with whatever they need.  ANY amount you donate will help!

We are trying to raise 25K by Thanksgiving.  With your help we can make, and possibly exceed our goal!

We are also hosting a wonderful benefit in our neighborhood on November 10.  For details see our facebook page: benefit
