Hello everyone, on June 6th, 2020, our beloved Chico began showing symptoms such as consistent vomiting, extreme fatigue, no appetite, depression and overall declination. After 3 days, he was diagnosed with renal failure. His kidneys are failing. 

Chico is generally a loving, affectionate and docile cat. He is 3 1/2 years old , and a mix of Burmese and Ragdoll. As a baby, Chico experienced a very isolated upbringing in a small cat enclosure that he was confined in until he was rescued. At 2 years old, we were given the opportunity to bring Chico home with us as he was no longer wanted by his previous owner. 

As you all know, COVID-19 has left many of us without jobs, caring for our kids at home due to school closures, unsure of when this will all pass over. As a struggling single mother, financially these times have been uncertain but we want to provide Chico with the best chance at life, he's our baby boy.

To date, medical costs including hospitalization, medication, IV fluids, overnight care, examinations and tests have come up to $2000.00 CAD so far. We are asking for any help to cover these costs and in raising funds that will go towards  further costs such as blood tests, examinations, specialized dietary food, medications etc.

To anyone who doesn't know how renal failure can impact cats; Chico has been suffering from severe dehydration, inflammation and excessive mucosa surrounding his organs, high pH and off the chart phosphorus levels, which is affecting his energy levels, mood, appetite and urinary & bowel secretions. He hasn't eaten in 4 days as of today, June 10th.
