My name is Angie, and as one of her close friends, I'm here to share what happened to Kara Crowell, as she's not one to ask for help.

Last Sunday evening, January 14th, Kara was doing her nightly horse chores when she fell on a patch of ice and broke her femur in half! After she fell, is when she realized that she forgot her phone in the house. Her only option for survival was to drag herself from the barn to the house. The windchill was -20 degrees! What kept her going is knowing she would freeze to death if she didn’t get to her house. She called her mom and then 911. They took her to Kearney by Ambulance and did surgery the next day placing a rod down her leg.

The femur is the worst bone in the body to break because it’s one of the largest bones. The pain is excruciating and takes the longest to heal.

Due to Kara’s health history with Stage 4 cancer for the past 13 years her broken bones don’t allow her to heal like a normal person. This broken femur is going to take months to heal. Her only source of income is standing on her own two feet. Kara has been working this whole time standing on her feet while operating her own successful Hair Salon, Ultimate Hair Salon.

Now, she cannot work, so When she can't work, she has no income.

Anyone who knows Kara knows that She's A Fighter and she will not let cancer beat her down!

We are asking for $40,000 because she's going to be off work for many months.
