IT'S THE $5 CHALLENGE!
DO WHAT ALL THE COOL PEOPLE ARE DOING!
Spare half a sawbuck and help Terry. It's cool to be kind, ya know.
Those that know Terry Beale already know what kind of man he is. Compassionate, loving, a true friend, and a die hard Marine.
Without knowing for sure if his condition is due to exposure in the Gulf War, his ailments are not those of a man of his age, nature, health, and spirit. Aliments that have included removal of his parathyroid glands, his thyroid (due to medical error), bilateral nephrostomy tubes for over a year, and the hope of a complete urinary reconstruction (new ureters made from small intestine, a kidney clean out, and a new bladder - the Florida pouch)
...and with the hopes of the urinary reconstruction, the surgeon found himself in a life or death situation with his patient on the table, and chose life. That included removing the hemorrhaging right kidney (which was the 'good' kidney), cleaning up a pocket of infection that has still not been identified a month later, and stapling up Terry. All plans for reconstruction were aborted just to keep Terry alive.

Through the medical trauma and uncertainty, Terry continues to do his best with his health, his living, and his service dog, ChestyBug. Actually, Terry lives for this constant companion.
Again, if you know Terry, you know what Bug means to him.
And you also know that Bug has had some health issues in the past, some of which have not been resolved. To do so will require a scheduled procedure at a specialty animal hospital, for a series of biopsies. This is the kind of stress that Terry doesn't need - that worry for his buddy.
While Bug's needs are being managed with prescription food and meds, the biopsies need to be done for an accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.

Terry is a fighter - we know this. But he needs help.
Bug's prescription food, getting his vehicle running again, and living life add up quickly - and those few things are just the beginning.
He shouldn't have the stress of such a financial squeeze when his days are centered around healing physically and mentally.
Terry has friends all over the world, and those people have friends all over the world. It would be the coolest thing ever if everyone that has ever expressed a word of support, or a thought for peace in his world, to donate $5 each. If all those people he knows out there were to donate their lunch money for just one day, you have no idea the impact it would make.
Strength is in numbers. Not by how much one can do, but by what many can do together.
