Makayla’s Fight

On February 11 2022, 20 year old Makayla Charette underwent emergency surgery to have a large mass removed from one of her ovaries. It was later determined that this was a form of Lymphoma, and Makayla would need more painful procedures to determine the type and stage of Lymphoma. Chemotherapy has already begun, and her family is still unclear what the future will bring regarding her treatment protocol.

Makayla being 20 is being treated as an adult, but as most of us know it’s still so young and terrifying for a young adult to face such a diagnosis. Makayla is no longer covered under her parents’ insurance plans, and costly medications have already been started. Time off work for Makayla and her family is going to take its toll on them all financially. In hopes of easing at least one burden, I’ve started this GoFundMe to help carry them through this difficult time.

Dawn was there for our family when our child was battling cancer and I’m happy to be returning the favour. Please, if you can give, your donation will be received with extreme gratitude.
