Today, September 6 around 2AM, our sweet boy Monkey who just turned 3, started screaming in pain. He was just playing with his brothers and sisters moments before. He screamed and cried in agony and was unable to move his back legs. We rushed him to the hospital, where they did many tests and x-rays. We waited all night to hear back from the vet. This morning around noon we had finally got a hold of the vet, who said its possible that he either has a herniated disc or some other underlying condition which is causing him to be paralyzed from the waist down. We are no where closer to figuring out what is causing such pain for our Monkey until we can get him a CT or MRI scan, and were looking at spending a large sum of money just to see what we should do next. Since its labor day weekend their are unable to do at CT scans or MRI scans. The only clinic who would be able to preform such tests is in San Diego, 2 hours from where we are. The initial visit which was an overnight emergency vet clinic was 2,000, and now were looking at another 2,000 just for him to get an MRI or CT to find out what the issue is.  Here we are now waiting until a clinic will be able to preform such scans, yet were out of options. Our options for helping monkey are limited until we can figure out what is causing his paralysis, and the possibility for him getting treated so he can live out the long life he was supposed to have.
