Ron's medical expenses
Donation protected
Dear family and friends, our 70-year-old dad Ron Pirner fell down a flight of concrete stairs landing on his head, while on vacation in Mexico with his longtime girlfriend Shelly on December 1, 2022. He was rushed to the emergency room and has a blood clot on his brain. He has had 3 CAT scans, with another one happening today. He has been sedated and restrained while on medications to shrink his blood clot. While he is slowly improving, the hospital says he will need to stay there for at least another 3 days and in Mexico for an additional eight days before flying home in an air ambulance. We hope to help with medical expenses and an air ambulance back to Tucson when he can fly. The hospital in Mexico is demanding payment upfront or threatening to discharge him to a facility where he may or may not get the care he needs. We are hoping to send funds, and work with insurance...but he is on Medicare and they do not pay anything international. Currently, his expenses are $30,000, but we expect it to reach up to $100,000 or more for the duration of his care, air transport, and other costs included with staying 8-10 additional days in Mexico upon hospital discharge. Thank you in advance for your prayers and positive thoughts for my dad Ron.

Thankfully Ron(dad) has been slowly improving. Results of a scan done yesterday show shrinking of the blood clots. We are working with an air ambulance service to bring him back to the USA today or tomorrow, hopefully.

Ron(dad) made it back to Tucson late last night on the medical airplane. He was very confused upon arrival into the ER. The doctors have ordered an MRI and CT scan to determine what is going on. Once the results are back tomorrow they can admit him. Thank you for your continued prayers and support.
