Hi I am Celine! While volunteering at a school in Arusha, Tanzania I saw how much joy something as small as a pencil or rubber could bring. Things we often take for granted can mean the world to someone else.
Although Mission Hady (the school I was placed at) was quite well equipped many other schools have far less. No safety. No materials for creativity. Just empty desks and chalkboards.
This fundraiser is to help change that.
I’m hoping to raise funds for two schools in particular being Frejale and Star Rise so that they can provide their students with the basics every child deserves.
For Frejale we aim to:
- Repair broken classroom windows as it gets cold and the wind makes it hard for the kids to focus
- Give it a fresh coat of paint not just for aesthetics, but to create a cleaner, healthier, more motivating space
- Provide essential school and food supplies
For Star Rise we aim to:
- Build a fence around the school as at the moment it's bordered by a river which poses a serious safety risk when the kids are playing
- Create a second classroom, as currently children of all ages are taught together making it difficult for the youngest to keep up
- Provide school supplies as well.
The donations will be equally split between both schools and go directly to addressing their most urgent needs.
Every €5 goes a long way and if you can’t donate, sharing helps just as much.
