Hello, my name is Derek Holland. I was directed here as an option to try and get some extra help. I am 19 years old and I work part time (30 hours a week) and I attend Alvin Community College as a full time student. After being given the option of taking in my younger brothers or habing them go into Child Protective Services my boyfriend (yes I am gay, please don't say anything negative about that) have taken them in. My boyfriend is Jon Estrada who is also a part time worker and a full time college student. I have very recently taken over parental rights of my two younger brothers Dylan (17) and Devan (13) Holland. We have all had a very hard life growing up and now that I am somewhat able to give them a better life than they have ever had I am willing to do anything to give them all they deserve. They were recently removed from our mothers care due to horrible conditions from verbal and physical abuse to not having food and living in a filthy house in the middle of the woods. I do not want them in CPS so I am doing everything I can to assure they are taken care of. They deserve so much more than what they have been given in life and I am doing what I can to change it. We are getting them into couseling, church and back in school. Dylan has not been in school for the past four years and is finally starting as a freshman even though he was supposed to be a Sr. We have gotten him enrolled in an educational program to help him and get him graduated within two year. Dylan also has a heart defect and we are trying to find a cardiologist to get  him too as well. Devan has been in and out of school over the past four years. Our mother saw it more of a day care than anything else, she would enroll him and unenroll him for a few months here and there.  I am doing all I can to provide for them and is my boyfriend but honestly we are still children ourselves to most people. I am using this strictly as a way to get any extra help we can. They both came to our family with what they had on their backs and their two little dogs. We have spent as much money as we can on trying to get them what they need. Our mother as of a few days ago packed up and dissapeared with her husband. They left everything and took their pop up trailer. They told some family they were heading to Washington State but they both have federal felony charges and warrents on them because of the situation. Our father hasn't been heard from for years, last I heard he was living in an RV somewhere in north Texas. We really don't have anyone to help us, our other family has done all they can. We are also in desperate need of a decent running vehicle. I am sorry for such a long description but this takes a lot to explain. Anything is appreciated more than words can explain and we can not thank you all enough. God bless.
