I’m raising money for my brother, his wife and their 3 young children who suffered major foundation damage to their home in the recent hurricane on August 22. Brian, my brother, was checking his basement after several hours of rain that day. The sump pump was keeping up with the water, but as he stood there, water starting spewing through the foundation wall. He heard a series of loud pops and thankfully got out of the way just in time as the foundation wall crumbled. They had a flood of water come into their finished basement, ruining many belongings including their washer and dryer, furniture, and many of the children’s toys. They have moved into my parents house because no one could confirm stability of the structure. They found out today that their insurance company will not cover any of the damages which are extremely costly, not to mention the loss of belongings.
