Justin was severely burned in a grease fire in Thursday, 1/15/15. He has 2nd & 3rd degree burns on approximately 1/3 of his body.
His sister was cooking with oil in the kitchen and then the oil became too hot and caught fire. Justin then tried to take the pan outside to put out the fire and when he was carrying the pan it burned his hand causing him to drop the pan and then he slipped and fell into the fire below him. He is currently suffering from 2nd - 3rd degree burns on his back side, hands, and feet with minor burns on his neck and face. He is currently on a ventilator and heavily sedated to withstand the pain. Justin has surgeries and a long road of healing and rehabilitating ahead of him. They are expecting this process to take 2 or 3 months based on the information that we have gathered so far. In the mean time, Justin will have rent due, car payments, insurance payments, and medical bills to be paid. Any amount makes a difference. Justin is one of the most genuine people I have ever met. He would give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need. His friends/boss who worked with him for a while said he always gives 110% on anything he does. It's so incredibly sad seeing this happen to a great person such as himself, especially when he was trying to control the situation and do the right thing. Justin is a very determined and self driven person, so we are extremely confident that he will over come any hardships that he will be facing.
In addition, we are going to use these funds to move Justin, Sarah and Kyle to Washington state to live with family (Mom) so that they can get the support they need to get back on their feet and get Justin the long-term physical therapy he's going to need.
He was also speaking with his mom just a few short weeks ago about going into the firefighting academy!! What a way to get started down the road of public servanthood! Please pray for his heart's desire be to continue to move forward in this career path if it's God's will.
At the moment we are just praying that he fights away any potential infections while he is so vulnerable. Even if you have nothing to donate, please say a prayer for him to have a smooth and speedy recovery are more than appreciated. Justin is very loved and appreciated by many friends and family members and words could not explain how much your contributions would mean to everyone, especially him. Thank you so much. Please keep him in your prayers.
