Who I am Hello!
My Name Is Michael Henao aka Hey-Now! I am an adrenaline junkie, gear head, 2-wheel maniac! I'm also a highly passionate and accomplished road racer. I have always been known as the wild child; it took no time to realize that the track is the safest place to feed my childhood-diagnosed A.D.D. (Adrenalin-Driven Disorder). I thrive from the physical demands, and the mental focus required to compete at a high level in this sport. I love everything that comes with motorcycle racing; from turning wrenches to twisting throttles, the battles, the wins, and friendships created along the way.
What am I trying to accomplish
The 2016 season kicks off with the 75TH Annual Daytona 200 on March 12th. This is one of the top racing events in the Country. What was only a dream is now a viable reality, and I will be entering this competition with a 2011 Ducati 848EVO!
I acquired the Ducati to achieve my goal of racing with AMA Pro, which is now known as MotoAmerica. Unfortunately regulations have changed and it is no longer permitted in the middle weight class. It is classified as a middle weight for Daytona 200. I couldn’t think of a better event to race my Ducati for the last time before having to sell her. Participating in this event with the Ducati would be the perfect fairy tale ending, before moving on to the next chapter in my road racing life.
Why I need support
This is a costly sport and the Daytona 200 attracts heavily supported and sponsored factory riders. Being a privateer adds an additional challenge to this event. With your help and contributions it will put me on the grid and give me a chance to compete and show what I have worked so hard for.
How the contributions will be distributed:
The $5,500 that is necessary to compete would cover entry fees, three sets of tires, race fuel, dyno tuning, a pit crew, and other miscellaneous expenses. A portion of the donation will also cover much needed protection. The condition of my current suit can no longer safely handle impacts over 80mph, let alone a track like Daytona. Many of you know that I reside in Colorado and the Daytona 200 is in Florida. I've added this 4,200 mile round trip to the expenses as well (good thing gas is so affordable!).The amount I need is a fraction of the budget that factory riders have at their disposal.
Personal message
I cant emphasize enough how thankful I am to everyone who is supporting my Daytona 200 race! As this is more than just a personal dream, it is my passion and an event I have long awaited participating in. Racing the Ducati is a bonus that I did not expect, with the personal history I have with it and how I was finally able to obtain it.
Thank You for your time and contributions!
There will be space on my Ducati for all those who support me, whether it be your name or a business logo. Please email me your designs.
