Hello, my mom Ruby McCovey is currently in the hospital at UCSF. Three weeks ago she was admitted in St. Joseph’s Hospital for stomach swelling and discomfort, a week ago she was transferred to UCSF for further testing. I am reaching out for help (if you can). Right now, we are waiting for the biopsy results to figure out what is going on. The doctors are almost certain that it’s cancer, but we don’t know what kind yet. This has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone who loves her. What we do know is that we need to be close by to support her through every step of this process.

The cost of staying near the hospital has become a major burden. We come from a big family, my mom has 7 kids and we are doing everything we can to be here for our mom during this time. Lodging, travel, meals, and parking is adding up quickly, and the financial strain is now more than we can manage alone.
