Hi, our names are Cameron and Jade. About a month ago we were the happiest couple in the world bringing home our dream kitten from Mauhaus. Though we only had him for a little more than a month, we fell in love with the little guy when he was first announced at the cat cafe back in the summer of 2022 with his unique name. Now with heavy hearts, we must announce that we are losing Heyhey to FIP or Feline Infectious Peritonitis. Heyhey was known for his fearlessness, his endless capacity for affection, his love of digging into blankets, and most of all for his kindness. Heyhey survived to celebrate his first birthday with family before taking a very sudden crossing of the rainbow bridge.
We would like to thank the teams at Banfield Hospital, Rock Road Animal Hospital, and most of all Veterinary Speciality Services for their extraordinary care and kindness. However, our family has been now emotionally devastated by the loss of our baby boy as well as financially by the tremendous cost of emergency care and hospice. Between Heyhey and Cameron's liver biopsy scare, we are living paycheck to paycheck. If you can send a blessing to our family in any way we would be beyond grateful for the kindness.
The total care credit bill tops off at $3,500, though we have invested close to $4000 to ensure Heyhey's quality of life in his last days. If you can help us celebrate Heyhey's life and save ours please donate to our cause. We know we are not the only ones truly devastated by the loss of such a precious life. If you or your loved ones cannot donate to the hospital bills or funeral costs then please spread awareness of FIP in his memory. This deadly virus has a nearly 100% fatality rate in kittens under 2 years old. Even one more family knowing how dangerous FIP can be is enough.
Thank you for your prayers, love, and support. We loved you Heyhey. I don't regret a single moment of knowing you. May you find peace with the other small ones that FIP took too soon.
