Hi Friends -

My name is Kari Hendrick --- we are raising money for a magical human --- her name is LISA SHALOM.

I met Lisa four years ago in a leadership course. I saw Lisa before she saw me. Why?

⭐️ BECAUSE SHE IS RADIANT! ⭐️

Lisa has an energy to her that is captivating, magnetizing, contagious and nothing but love. Well....love and a whole lot more. Lisa is a talented spoken word poetry artist. She has devoted her life to wildlife conservation and to the well-being of our planet and its humans- and she embodies this in her being. She spends hours a week facilitating programs that allow children and humans to use their voices and bodies for expression through poetry and storytelling via her "Spoken Word Medicine" workshops. She is funny, witty, incredibly smart, kind, and beautiful inside and out.

Our dear friend, the Shalomiest of all the Lisas, is due to undergo surgery soon and could use our help. Her body has been requiring her to slow down and the energy she normally devotes to work and play has been diverted to rest, health and many, many hospital visits over the past four and a half months. Her diagnosis is not what anybody wants to hear, but fortunately, it has a good prognosis with treatment. She will share more once she is recovered from surgery and ready to express.

In this moment and beyond, Lisa will need support from the community near and far. This process is expensive and emotionally, psychologically and physically taxing. Lisa is currently in Los Angeles, thousands of miles from her family and childhood friends in Montreal and Tel Aviv and she could really use our support. This money will help cover medical bills, therapy, groceries, transportation, and life necessities that she will not be able to cover while she cannot work.

One thing Lisa shares about her programs is that "spoken word is an opportunity to come out of hiding with “vulnerabravery”, to strengthen the core, to integrate, connect, evolve and to give others permission to do the same."
