Billy Schofield- Update
Donation protected
Our friend Billy was admitted to Foothills Hospital on March 28, where he was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Not the place he wanted to celebrate his 66th birthday on April 6th.
While in the hospital, Billy suddenly lost feeling in his lower body. An MRI found a tumor attached to Billy’s spine. Emergency surgery was done, successfully removing a tumor. Unfortunately, the damage was already done and has caused paralysis from the chest down with no bodily functions.
Billy has started aggressive chemotherapy treatments and awaiting an Autologous Stem Cell Transplant. He has also started physiotherapy to help in regaining his mobility.
I am calling out for Donations to Billy’s many friends going back to John G. Diefenbaker High School, Calgary Investment industry, FokkenFokken & Postie hockey, a multitude of music events since the 70s. As well as staff, patrons and musicians at The Ship & Anchor, Mikey’s, & the Blues Can. Donations will go towards Billy’s recovery; additional medical services, possible wheelchair-accessible housing, 24/7 in-home care if required, transportation, living expenses if needed.
Billy, in his fashion, remains very positive with his strong faith, love & support from the best friends ever. He’s entertaining the nurses & medical staff with his humor and keeping them on their toes.
Please share this page with friends and family, on social media, email, and word of mouth, to reach more of Billy’s friends & acquaintances from over the years.
Help us get Billy home and back on the golf course, playing the game he loves.
Thanks All.
