It is haying season here at the farm. While we grow our own hay, we don't have the machinery to cut and bale it, so every year we must pay (excellent!) people to do that job for us (as well as paying a few other people to help put hay in the barn - we also have volunteers helping out with that, for which we are very grateful). The annual bill for all our hay is usually $12,000 (sometimes more, but still considerably cheaper than buying hay from other people!) This year I have so far only set aside $7000 to pay for our hay, so I'm launching this GoFundMe in hopes of raising a bit more cash to keep our rescue animals fed this winter. We usually do around 2500 - 3000 small square bales and about 35 - 50 large round bales. This serves as food for our rescue sheep, goats, cows, pigs, draft horse, mini horses and donkeys.
Here's to warm sunny days and no rain while the hay is down!
