Jeweliana’s fight with Bone cancer
Donation protected
Hello. My name is Tonya and my daughter Jeweliana is battling osteosarcoma (bone cancer). January 2024 she got X-rays showing fluid on her patella. She was ordered to do 6-8 weeks of physical therapy and her pain and swelling was getting worse. We went back to herorthopedic doctor in March 2024 and got an MRI ordered. The doctor called us 2 days later and said Jeweliana has a fractured femur so they needed her back in right away to do another X-ray and mri with and without contrast. We got her in within the hour and they called me 2 hours later stating they see a mass on her knee and could be osteosarcoma and they were sending us to children’s of Milwaukee to get a biopsy. We went to Milwaukee and got the biopsy march 14 2024. We got the results back on March 21 and the tumor the doctors found is cancerous. Jeweliana is starting chemotherapy today (4-10-2024) and I will be missing quite a bit of work. The bone scan Jeweliana had 2 weeks ago showed that pieces of the tumor broke off in her knee and traveled to her lung and ribs. Those pieces are very tiny but if chemo don’t take care of them they will going in surgically to scrap the Nogules and surrounding tissues off her lung and rib. The doctors say Jeweliana will be doing 10 weeks of chemo and will be hospitalized for most of her first 10 weeks. After the 10 weeks she have have scans to make sure the tumor is shrinking. Then we will be going to Milwaukee to have surgery to remove the tumor and then 20 more weeks of chemotherapy. We are in for a long road. Thank you for any help.
