Hi, my name is Hex. I'm a non-binary, trans-masc tattooer from Vancouver, BC.
I've recently received a phone call from Transcare BC that my top surgery process is finally happening and that I'll set up my consult with my surgeon and have my surgery date booked in a few weeks.
I expect the surgery to take place between September and October 2022.
Since I'm a full-time tattooer, which means I'm self-employed. I do not get paid from sick or vacation leave, and I plan to have 4 weeks of recovery time.
During recovery, I will need enough to cover my basic needs (food, rent, paying off my phone bill, monthly tax payment plan, medical supplies, misc). Without working for a month, it makes a dent in my financial stability.
I rarely ask for community help, but this is the first time I will need as much help as possible for this mission to come true. I've set this fundraiser for $2500 because I would also like to give back to the community from all the help; which means the amount that is leftover from the fundraiser, I'll be donating to Qmunity.
Qmunity is a non-profit organization based in Vancouver, BC that works to improve queer, trans, and Two-Spirit lives. They provide needs for the community such as:
- Free counselling
- Information and referrals
- Access to gender-affirming chestwear
- Youth one-on-one peer support
By donating to my recovery fund, you'll be receiving updates of my journey of my top surgery and also a transparency of how the fund is been use.
I'll also posting the final amount of donation, and sending out a thank you notes for everyone who make this happen.
I sincerly thank you for taking your time to read through this fundrasier, and thank you so much for your help.
