Our dear friend Elaine is one of the many affected by the recent economic downturn and employee actions at IBM.

Elaine has two very smart and driven kids; in fact, her eldest has just graduated High School and will be attending Vanderbilt  University this coming Fall, and will be majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Having worked very hard in High School, she was part of the National Honor Society and was the City of Dallas Youth Commissioner, representing District 2.

During this period of transition, we want to pull together as friends and IBM colleagues to help Elaine's daughter and her family out as much as possible. Our goal is to raise at least $15,000 to help alleviate some of the living expenses such as room and board that come with attending college.
