Al and Betty Ellender

After surviving and finally recovering from Hurricanes Laura, Delta and the flood in May 2021 Albert “Al” Ellender and Betty “Teddie” Lauman Ellender’s home was struck by lightning Sunday, June 26th and caught fire. They were home at the time and were able to escape along with all their fur babies and their great grandchild Josie. The Ellender’s were born and raised in Lake Charles and have deep roots planted in the community. Al is an alumni of St. Landry Class of 1959 and Betty is an alumni of St. Charles Academy Class of 1963 and continued the tradition through their children and grandchildren. They have lost a majority of their personal belongings and no longer have a house to call home. They have insurance but with the rise in cost and also supply and demand it will take longer to restore the place they once called home. In response to the overwhelming request from so many friends, family and those in the community this Go Fund Me has been created to provide Mr. Al and Mrs Betty with emergency funds to begin rebuilding their lives.
