Heslop and Nielsen Family Fire Fund

On the evening of May 11th, the Heslop-Nielsen family experienced a devastating house fire at their home of nearly 40 years. No one was home during the fire. However, their four dogs were locked inside and suffered severe smoke inhalation injuries. Two of the dogs needed immediate medical attention and are still hospitalized.

Dr. Bob Heslop has been a pediatrician and served our community for the past 50 years, and has treated many of our young community members. Megan Nielsen has taught many of our children at Noah's Ark Preschool through the years. Rob Nielsen has coached and umpired in youth sports, creating positive sporting experiences for so many local children. The Nielsens also have two boys, Christian (12) and Evan (10), who have lost many of their clothes and beloved possessions. Unfortunately, the limited insurance policy on their home will not cover any of their personal belongings or the mounting veterinary expenses.

As their friends and neighbors, we are asking the community to pull together to give back to the Heslop-Nielsen family, who have helped to support so many of us through Peters Township and beyond.
