Support Edward’s Fight Against Stage 4 Colon Cancer
My dad, Edward, has always been the rock of our family — a loyal husband, devoted father, and hardworking mechanic who spent 40 years turning wrenches side-by-side with his brother in their beloved family-run garage Norm’s Automotive in Los Alamitos, CA. He’s the kind of man who’d give you the shirt off his back, and now he needs our help more than ever.
This past month has been nothing short of heartbreaking. On June 22, 2025, we lost my grandma — his mother. The very next day, on June 23, we lost his older brother unexpectedly and without warning. We laid them to rest in a joint funeral on July 11. Just three days later, on July 14, the day of his 34th wedding anniversary, my dad was rushed to the emergency room and soon after diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer.
Doctors quickly performed surgery to remove a large tumor from his colon, and now he’s preparing for chemotherapy. There is no known cure for colon cancer at this stage — only ongoing treatments, medical monitoring, and constant care to help manage the disease and keep him with us for as long as possible.
Despite it all, he’s still cracking jokes and making sure everyone around him is okay. That’s just who he is — the one who holds everything and everyone together.
Now that he’s out of work, we’re asking for support to help lighten the load. Your donation will go toward:
• Ongoing hospital bills and chemotherapy treatments
• Home equipment and medical supplies for his recovery
• Household costs now that he can no longer work
• Transportation and caregiving needs
If you know my dad, you know how much he loves this family — and how hard it is for him to accept help. So I’m asking on his behalf, with all the love in my heart.
We are heartbroken but determined to keep fighting beside him. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this page and keeping Edward in your prayers. Every bit of support means the world to us.
With love and gratitude,
Mary, Karina, and Harout Manukian
