This fundraiser is for lovely Becca, a cat currently in Muskoka, who is facing a serious and life-threatening medical condition that requires immediate veterinary intervention.
After suddenly becoming lethargic, refusing food, and showing signs of severe pain, Becca was rushed to an emergency veterinary clinic. Following examinations, blood work, and imaging, veterinarians diagnosed him with urinary blockage leading to acute kidney failure — a critical condition that can become fatal within days if not treated aggressively.
The vet explained that treatment must begin immediately and includes:
Emergency hospitalization
Catheterization to relieve the blockage
IV fluids to support failing kidneys
Continuous monitoring and medication
Possible surgery if the blockage reoccurs
In Canada, emergency veterinary care is extremely expensive, and unlike human healthcare, there is no public assistance or coverage for pets. The estimated cost for life-saving treatment and follow-up care is $20,000.
The people caring for Becca are doing everything they can, but the financial burden is overwhelming. This is why we are reaching out beyond borders, asking for help from compassionate people in other countries who may be able to support this urgent cause.
This fundraiser is solely for medical care. Veterinary estimates and updates will be shared to ensure transparency and trust with everyone who helps.
Becca is currently fighting for his life. He is scared, in pain, and dependent on humans to make the right choice for him. With timely treatment, his condition is treatable, and he has a real chance at recovery and a normal life.
If you can donate, you are directly helping save a life. If you cannot, sharing this fundraiser with people in other countries can make a life-saving difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read, care, and help.
