He's Always the First to Help. Sulieman M.

Hello,
There are certain people in the world who help everyone and comes to their aid at the drop of a hat. One person like that is my dad Sulieman Muhammad. A few of his friends and I decided to help him in his time of need by creating this GoFundMe

Many of you may know he had an awful fall October 28 as he was helping someone get rid of branches after a storm we had in Massachusetts. He fell from a ladder hitting his head. He was rushed to a nearby Good Samaritan Hospital in Brockton but was soon air lifted to Boston Medical when he started having seizures and his injuries were more complicated than Good Samaritan could handle.
It was extremely scary as the doctors relayed there was bleeding in the brain, broken collarbone, broken clavicle, fractured skull down to his right ear canal, 6 broken ribs, broken bones in back and base of his skull. BMC doctors kept him in an induced coma for six days extremely concerned what his cognitive abilities would be once he woke up and I hate to even type this but there was a slight chance he would not wake.

We were grateful when they pushed to wake him up out of his coma and he showed signs of consciousness. Those few days and moments were terrifying for my entire family but especially my mom who was there every day next to her best friend, her husband.

November 9th BMC released him into a rehab center in Braintree, MA where he stayed for three weeks. He is now home but still in need of rehab services from an occupational therapist, speech therapist and a weekly visit from a home health nurse. His ribs are healing well but his recovery will be a long time and of course he may never be able to be as physical in work as he was before this fall. The ribs alone can take up to a year to heal. I feel very fortunate to share that he never faced any of the brain damage the doctors had warned us about however because of the fractured skull he has a constant ringing in his right ear and bleeding that will eventually subside but only time will tell.

Since he is not working now and because his accident was not a work-related accident, he is not receiving any workman’s comp to offset some of the out-of-pocket expenses but gratefully he is receiving some income that keeps his monthly bills paid.

He has a long road of recovery with numerous hospital visits. He will be out of work for the unforeseeable future, and we would like that time to be as stress free as possible. These funds will go towards out-of-pocket expenses, home repairs, grocery and the many prescription medications he will need going forward.

It’s difficult asking a community to help but I think we all know that he would be the first to line up and help any one of us if needed.
Thank you and I really appreciate the love and support my family received during those awful days. Knowing how much my dad is loved really warms my heart and makes me want to be a better him 
Again, thank you all so much
