WARRIORS FOR DAWN RENEE
My name is Marilyn Esterkamp-Cowan, "Aunt Mimi" to Dawn Renee Delk-Baker aka "Dawner"
CANCER... a word we have heard very often, had decided to creep into Dawn's life 1 year ago this month.
It's name is Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma of the Cervix; a very rare and aggressive malignancy with a high propensity for metastases.
Despite chemotherapy, radiation, countless transfusions & medications, IT has decided to capture Dawn's beautiful spirit only to boast that any hope of a recovery is no longer an option. She has been given 4 to 8 weeks. Devastating news!
We shall all miss Dawn's laughter, sweetness, kindness, and generosity. She had a passion for people, animals, and cooking which she acquired from her father's restaurant, Connie's House of Marker (Richmond, IN).
There was never a Christmas holiday without her cookies, buckeyes, zucchini bread, or chocolate covered pretzels with sprinkles. So many memories. So little time.
Dawn has met this challenge with her deep religious faith, courage, dignity and grace.
Dawn's longtime boyfriend, Hamilton County Deputy Sheriff, Sgt. Chuck Penley, her mother Sandra Cline-Delk, myself and countless family members would appreciate your assistance in helping us with her medical and end of life expenses.
Please accept our deepest gratitude and God bless you all!
- Aunt Mimi
