Heroes did their part! Please help rebuild my family's lives

Hello, my name is Karen McGhee. I'm the mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother to the fire victims from the house fire on Monday, September 8, 2025, in Glenwood, Iowa. I am so grateful for the heroic rescue efforts of the three Leick Construction workers, Gabe, John, and Damien, who happened to be in the area. Their selfless acts and compassion not only saved my almost 4-year-old granddaughter, my daughter-in-law, and her mother, but also a 15-year-old young relative trapped in his upstairs bedroom. These men did not even take into consideration the risk to their own lives while saving the lives of my loved ones. All three sustained injuries during the rescue, with Gabe suffering more severe burns requiring hospitalization. He also has a GoFundMe set up that I would appreciate you looking into as well.

My family is safe and physically unharmed, yet they face all the heartache and expenses of starting over from the ground up. Community clothing and daily needs donations have been generous and appreciated. The largest hurdle will be securing a new home for this multi-generational family. Once that is accomplished, restocking with everything from furniture down to a basic vegetable peeler will be needed. Please consider any donation, large or small, as a step forward for this family heading into birthday and holiday months for the kids and the day-to-day needs of rebuilding their blessed lives because of those three incredibly selfless, amazing heroes.
