NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Police are investigating after a maintenance man was shot and killed in an apparent home invasion in east Nashville Thursday.
It happened at a mobile home park in the 2800 block of Dickerson Pike, near Hart Lane, around 12:30 p.m.

Suzanne Slater was inside her home when she said she heard banging on her front door. When she opened it, three men forced their way inside, each carrying a gun.
“One of the guys said, ‘Where is it? where is it’?” Slater told News 2. Then another said he thought they had the wrong place.
“He said, ‘we got the wrong trailer, the wrong people,’” Slater said of the incident. “That’s when the subject said, ‘I hate to do to this to y’all’ and I knew at that point he was getting ready to kill us.”
Slater said the suspect put handcuffs on her husband and at that moment, 30-year-old Anthony Jacobs came through the front door and tackled one of the suspects.
Jacobs and the three suspects ended up outside and Slater heard a gunshot. Jacobs later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Witnesses reported the victim, a maintenance worker and resident of the mobile home park, became concerned when he saw three armed men enter the mobile home.
“Anthony has tried to help people, he’s tried to clean things up and for this to happen… By the grace of God that saved us today and God is with him,” Slater said.
The suspects, one white man and two black men, fled the scene in a newer model royal blue Toyota or Hyundai.
