Hero of Gaza, Tariq Rajab, Needs Help to Save His Family

Many of you know Tarek Rajab as a social leader, a volunteer by heart, and a devoted father. His dedication to his community in Gaza is unwavering, even amidst the horrors of war. Tarek has risked his life countless times to rescue those trapped under rubble, provide essential first aid, and offer crucial healthcare. Despite the immense personal loss and the destruction of his home, Tarek continues to stand as a pillar of strength and hope for his people.

My name is Hiba Awaysa, I am the founder and CEO of Sawaed19 , a social tech startup committed to connecting volunteers with impactful opportunities and providing comprehensive volunteer management systems for organizations. Our mission is to foster community-driven change, and it was through this mission that I met Tarek Rajab. I have had the privilege of witnessing Tariq's remarkable journey firsthand. From his participation in our training programs to his rapid ascent as a social leader in Gaza, Tariq has exemplified the very best of humanity.

Let me take few minutes to share Tariq's story;

In the heart of the Gaza Strip, amidst the chaos of war and destruction, there shines a beacon of hope named Tariq Rajab. His story is one of unwavering courage, selflessness, and undying dedication to his people. As the conflict rages on, Tariq has emerged as a true hero, risking his own life to save others and provide crucial aid in the face of unimaginable adversity.

Since the onset of the war on October 7th, Tariq has been a constant presence on the frontlines, volunteering tirelessly with the Palestinian Red Crescent. Despite the relentless bombing and the loss of his own home, he has remained steadfast in his mission to rescue those trapped beneath the rubble and offer essential healthcare and first aid to the wounded.

But Tariq's heroism extends far beyond his actions on the battlefield. He is a natural leader, always at the forefront of initiatives to address the pressing needs of his community. Even amidst personal tragedy and the evacuation of his own family, Tariq has never wavered in his commitment to his people. Check this initiative that Tariq lead during the war in Gaza.

Let me introduce you to Tarek's beautiful family:

Sabreen, his wife, whose name means "To Be Patient," embodies resilience in the face of adversity. She bravely endured the terror of bombings while carrying their newborn son, Mohamed, to safety, traversing miles on foot to reach the south of Gaza.

Najah and Rafif, their precious daughters, once lived like princesses in their castle, until the ravages of war robbed them of their home and security.

And then there's Mohamed, their baby boy, born amidst the chaos of conflict, who has never known a moment of peace, startled awake each night by the thunderous roar of bombs.

Recently, Tariq faced a heartbreaking dilemma when his newborn son, Mohammad, fell ill amidst the chaos of war. Unable to find proper medicine and healthcare for his precious baby, Tariq was forced to confront the agonizing choice between his duty to his people and his responsibility to his family. In the end, he chose to prioritize his loved ones, putting their safety and well-being above all else.

Now, as Tariq and his family navigate the perilous realities of life in Gaza, it is our turn to step up and support them in their time of need. With your generous donations, we can help Tariq and his beautiful family escape the horrors of war and build a new life free from fear and uncertainty.
