Days after having recovered from covid-19, Miguel started bruising throughout his legs, leading to a long hospitalization and a diagnosis of Stage IV Hepatocellular Carcinoma (liver cancer). At the time of the diagnosis, the doctors were not very hopeful.
Against the prognosis, Miguel seemed determined to endure anything for his extensive loving family, his two sons, and his newlywed. Christmas Day the entire extended family visited him and from outside the hospital, cheered him on with banners shouting “we love you!” as hard as we could, fearing it might be the last time he would see all of us together.
Unfortunately, the cancer had spread and the complications amounted faster than the doctors could heal. He was transferred to the ICU ( Intensive Care Unit ) as I wrote this note on January 15th, 2021.
We created this gofundme to raise funds to help cover the cost of medical care, living expenses for his family during this period, and the imminent funerary service.
As a family, we want to commemorate him and make sure we are there for each other during this hurtful time without the added stress of financial burden.
