HERO DOG NEEDS YOUR HELP
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Pat Studenroth and I am hoping to help out a great couple and puppy parents to an amazing dog, Benjamin.
David and Sara manage Hill Top Orchard, also known as Furnace Brook Winery. We first met David at a wine tasting in 2009. He and Sara married in the spring of 2020. Besides a deep love for each other, they both love Benjamin like their child.
2020 and 2021 were a tough couple years, with the wine tasting room closed due to COVID. Then, in 2021, at 1am on Christmas morning, David and Sara were awakened by Benjamins's frantic barking. When they opened the door to let Benjamin out, they saw heavy smoke coming from the back of the winery. Sara called 911 while David rushed to the building that housed the entire commercial operation. Thanks to Benjamin, the local volunteer fire company was on the scene in minutes, and the building was saved. Here is a link to the news article about the fire.

The fire chief stated, "If it wasn't for the dog, the whole building would have gone up."
Benjamin is a hero, but now this hero dog needs a hero to save him. You see, when David and Sara adopted Benjamin, they didn't care that he had knee deformities, they just wanted to give him a loving home. But at just six years old, Benjamin's luck ran out. He became very lame and was diagnosed with bi-lateral patellar subluxation and ruptured knee ligaments. On April 6, 2022, he underwent a $9,000 surgery. David told me, " I don't care if it takes 10 years to pay it off, he deserves it."
Unfortunately, the surgery didn't work; nor did the next one. In fact, due to an infection, Benjamin is worse. David and Sara have financed or paid out over 22,000 to date; including 500 a month for pain meds, use of a theraputic pool, and are looking at another surgery this fall. David and Sara won't give up, but they need your help. Who wants to be a hero for Benjamin? Below is a link to a follow-up article by Clarence Fanto of the Berkshire Eagle.

Funds will be kept in escrow by Purrfect Homes Rescue, LTD until passed on to David and Sara.
